Clear payment process from booking to pickup
When you book through 4Drive Korea, you pay a booking advance online by card at the time of reservation. We do not accept cash payments online. The advance secures your vehicle and confirms your reservation. The remaining balance is paid when you collect the vehicle at the counter in Jeju, and the acceptable payment methods for that balance are specified in your booking confirmation and voucher.
The split payment model means you lock in your booking immediately while retaining flexibility for the final payment at pickup. Each vehicle listing displays the exact payment structure. You will always know in advance which methods the local supplier accepts for the balance.
We accept major international card networks for the online booking advance. The payment form processes transactions securely, and your card issuer may apply its own verification steps such as 3D Secure or SMS confirmation.
The balance due at the counter in Jeju is stated in your voucher. Most suppliers accept cash in Korean Won or a debit card for the final payment. Some vehicles allow credit cards for the balance. The specific payment methods accepted for your chosen vehicle are shown during the booking process and repeated in your voucher, so there are no surprises when you arrive.
If you plan to pay the balance in cash, ensure you have sufficient Korean Won before reaching the counter. ATMs are available at CJU Jeju International Airport and throughout Jeju city. If you prefer to pay by card, check your voucher to confirm that option is available for your vehicle. The local supplier will issue a receipt and the signed agreement once the balance is settled.
Certain vehicles on our platform carry a "no deposit" label, meaning the local supplier does not place a hold on your card when you collect the vehicle. This is a separate attribute from insurance coverage or excess. Not all suppliers require a credit card. Whether a deposit is required and which card types are acceptable depend on the specific vehicle you select, not the vehicle class.
If you do not hold a credit card and the vehicle you want requires one for a deposit hold, consider contacting your bank to increase the limit on your debit card temporarily. The deposit hold, when applicable, is released after you return the vehicle in the agreed condition. The requirement for a credit card or the absence of a deposit is clearly indicated on each vehicle listing before you confirm your booking.
For vehicles that do require a deposit hold, the timeline for releasing that hold is set by the local supplier and displayed in your booking confirmation and voucher. Typically the hold is removed within a few days of returning the vehicle without damage or contract violations. The exact refund window varies by supplier and by your card issuer's processing time.
Any disputes regarding the deposit - such as deductions for damage or late return - are handled directly between you and the local supplier whose details are provided in your voucher. We recommend photographing the vehicle at pickup and return, and ensuring any pre-existing damage is noted in the agreement you sign at the counter.
If you need to cancel your booking, the refund policy for the advance you paid online is stated in your booking confirmation and voucher. Many bookings include free cancellation up to a certain number of hours before pickup. If you cancel within the free window, the advance is refunded to the original card within several business days, depending on your card issuer.
Cancellations made outside the free window may incur a cancellation fee, or the advance may be non-refundable, as specified when you booked. To cancel or modify your reservation, contact us at [email protected] or refer to the instructions in your voucher. Always check the cancellation terms before confirming your booking, especially during peak travel seasons.
All online payments are processed through a secure, encrypted payment gateway. We do not store your full card number or CVV on our servers. When you enter card details during booking, the information is transmitted directly to our payment processor using industry-standard SSL encryption. Your bank may also apply additional authentication steps to verify the transaction.
After your booking is complete, you will receive a confirmation email and voucher. The voucher contains your booking reference, pickup instructions, and the balance due at the counter. Keep this document accessible on your phone or printed. If you have questions about a charge on your statement or need a receipt, contact us at [email protected]. For full terms governing payments and cancellations, see our terms and conditions page.
No. A booking advance must be paid online by card when you reserve the vehicle. The balance is then paid at the counter in Jeju according to the methods listed in your voucher.
All transactions are processed in South Korean Won (KRW). If your card is issued in a different currency, your bank will convert the amount and may apply a foreign exchange fee.
It depends on the specific vehicle. Some suppliers require a credit card for the deposit hold, while others accept debit cards or require no deposit at all. Check the vehicle listing and your voucher for the exact requirements.
The timeline for releasing a deposit hold is set by the local supplier and shown in your voucher. Typically it takes a few days after you return the vehicle, though your bank's processing time may add extra days.
Check with your card issuer that international or online transactions are enabled and that your available balance covers the advance. You can also try a different card. For further help, contact us at our contact page or email [email protected].
